What this statement means is that any choice you commit now will affect you through out your life time. It is like let us say, you fail a semester in high school  right? That will then affect your credits and prohibit you from graduating by the year you are supposed to be graduating in. It also works for good things like getting married. That can affect your life by forming a family a home and so on. It all depends on choice, your decision to do something will form a path that will lead you to a new change in life. Even if its a small change, it still makes a change for a life time. So i would say don't carelessly make choices, always remember to think things through but, not to a point where it drifts off to overthinking. Basic saying, choose the wrong choices and all you will gain is negativity from all the wrong choices you made,and same goes for right but will gain positive from it. Make the best out of the life you live, always do so. If you choose the correct ways, well, good will of course come to you.
