What this statement means is that you got to choose what is best for you even though you stand alone on what you know is right. I mean it is better than following the crowd through the wrong road in life. Which then leads you into a life of pure misery and just unrighteousness through out your time. Always know your ways, the correct ways, of living your life at the most goodness. If these people you claim as "friends" dare you to do things you know you shouldn't be doing, reject it. Gain some guts in yourself and stand up for what is right. If they don't stand with you, or go against on what you say or feel then it is better off that way. For only then you truly realize they aren't your friends, they aren't loved ones, and anyone you should socialize with. They are just a burden between and your success in life, and it is best to depart from this "friendship" you seize to believe is there. Just carry on your way and make the best of wonders for yourself and if some people support you and love you through out this journey you are taking, then those are what you can claim as friends.
